Who Does the Work
Wausau Concrete Construction is a concrete contractor based in Wausau, Wisconsin. The work itself is performed by Ross Construction, a crew that pours residential and commercial concrete across Central Wisconsin.
What We Pour
Four kinds of work make up nearly everything we do: concrete driveways and aprons, backyard concrete patios, stamped concrete for patios, pool decks and entries, and commercial concrete flatwork like parking lots, sidewalks and dock aprons. Garage floors, steps and walks usually come along with one of those jobs.
How We Price a Job
Every price starts with a visit. We measure, look at how water moves across the property, check what's under the old slab if there is one, and talk through finishes. The written estimate spells out the scope, tear-out and base work included, so you know what you're comparing when you hold it next to another bid.
A lower bid is usually lower in one of three places: less base under the slab, fewer joints, or no tear-out of the soft soil underneath. Those are the things that decide whether a slab heaves in year three. Ask any contractor you're comparing what they're doing for each.
What We Won't Do
- Pour on frozen ground to fit a job into December. Winter calls get scheduled for spring.
- Sell a full replacement when sealing or a section repair will do.
- Lift sunken slabs with foam or mudjacking. That's a different trade, and if it's the better fix for you we'll say so.
- Take a small job far outside our area when someone closer can do it better. We'll point you to them.
Where We Work
Most of our jobs are in Wausau and the communities a short drive away: Weston, Rib Mountain, Rothschild, Schofield, Kronenwetter, Mosinee and Marathon City. The pouring season runs roughly April through November; estimates can be booked any time of year.
